1935
The club is founded
Jewish-German rowers from the IVRIA club in Berlin, escaping Nazi Germany, bring their boats to the Yarkon and start rowing. Among the founders is Prof. Victor Gottheiner.
1937
The boathouse opens
The official opening ceremony is held on the southern bank of the river. It is the first rowing club established in Tel Aviv.
1984
Registered as an association
The club becomes a registered non-profit association, run by its members, with membership dues as its main source of funding.
2020
Around eighty members
The club counts roughly eighty members and a fleet that has grown to 64 boats, from single sculls up to eights.
2025
Ninety years on the river
The anniversary is marked with an outdoor exhibition of rare Yarkon photographs, guided tours of the boathouse, a short film and a Music, Boats and Wine evening on the terrace, as part of the Yarkon Path festival.
